OVERVIEW

The Faculty of Medicine (FM) at Saint George University of Beirut (SGUB) invites highly qualified individuals to submit their applications for the following vacancy:

Job Title: Simulation Coordinator

Reports to: Dean's Office


JOB PURPOSE

Oversee the daily operation of the simulation laboratory. Oversee the preparation, maintenance, inventory, and operation of all simulation equipment/supplies, and collaborates with faculty to design, plan, implement and schedule simulation activities.                         

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborate with faculty to provide consistent, consecutive, and relevant student learning experiences to meet course and clinical objectives in the simulation center
  • Develop the programs and integrate simulation as part of the assessment process
  • Supervise the simulation laboratory budget and report to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
  • Manage the equipment, supply inventories and make recommendations for the purchase of new ones
  • Prepare learners for the simulation, providing them with information about the scenario, the environment, the manikin and the medical equipment
  • Guide, support, and seek out ways to assist participants in achieving expected outcomes
  • Provide professional development that would include, but not be limited to, in-lab coaching, observing, and modeling of instructional strategies
  • Support teachers in assessing student work, and develop instructional plans with teams of teachers or as individuals
  • Ensure adherence to program policies, course objectives, program outcomes and current simulation best practice and safety measures
  • Communicate effectively with manufactures regarding maintenance, repair, update, and technology changes
  • Maintain center to meet regulation and accreditation standards
                                                                                                                               
     
                                     
     

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Nursing Sciences
    2+ years of related administrative experience required
