On June 26, 2025, Saint George University of Beirut (SGUB) proudly celebrated the graduation of its second cohort of students from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, specializing in Biology and Information Technology.

Held under the patronage and presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Elias Audi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the ceremony welcomed an esteemed lineup of attendees including SGUB President Dr. Tarek Mitri, ministers, members of parliament, ambassadors, and academic leaders.

In his speech, Dr. Mitri praised the graduates' resilience and excellence, noting their outstanding performance and high acceptance rate into medical schools. He emphasized the university’s commitment to academic distinction, civic engagement, and ethical values, especially in the face of Lebanon’s current challenges.

The keynote address was delivered by Ambassador Sahar Baassiri Salam, who shared inspiring life lessons and encouraged graduates to embrace their future with passion, honesty, and courage. Her words echoed a call to see Lebanon as a land of opportunity and responsibility.

The ceremony also featured addresses by Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Hanna Fares, and concluded with heartfelt words from His Eminence Metropolitan Elias Audi, urging graduates to use their knowledge in the service of truth, justice, and community.

Degrees were then awarded, marking the beginning of a new chapter for SGUB’s promising graduates.

في 26 حزيران 2025، احتفلت جامعة القديس جاورجيوس في بيروت (SGUB) بتخريج الدفعة الثانية من طلابها في كلية الآداب والعلوم، في اختصاصي علم الأحياء وتكنولوجيا المعلومات.

جاء الحفل برعاية وحضور رئيس مجلس أمناء الجامعة سيادة المتروبوليت الياس عوده، وبمشاركة لافتة من رئيس الجامعة الدكتور طارق متري، وعدد من الوزراء والنواب والسفراء والشخصيات الأكاديمية والوطنية.

وفي كلمته، أشاد الدكتور متري بصمود الخريجين وتفوقهم، مشيراً إلى أدائهم المميز ونسبة القبول العالية بينهم في كليات الطب. كما أكد على التزام الجامعة بالتميّز الأكاديمي، والانخراط المدني، والقيم الأخلاقية، رغم التحديات التي تواجه لبنان.

أما الكلمة الرئيسية، فألقتها السفيرة سحر بعاصيري سلام، حيث شاركت الخريجين دروساً ملهمة من مسيرتها، وحثّتهم على خوض المستقبل بشغف وصدق وإيمان. وشددت على أن لبنان لا يزال أرضاً للفرص، وأنهم جزء أساسي من بنائه.

تخلّل الحفل أيضاً كلمة من عميد كلية الآداب والعلوم الدكتور حنا فارس، واختُتم بكلمة وجدانية من سيادة المتروبوليت الياس عوده، دعا فيها الخريجين إلى تسخير علمهم في خدمة الحق والعدالة والمجتمع.

وفي الختام، تم توزيع الشهادات على الخريجين، إيذاناً ببدء فصل جديد من مسيرتهم الواعدة.
