Job Title: Lab Assistant Reports to: Chair of the Biology Department
JOB PURPOSE
The Lab Assistant is responsible for providing support to faculty, students, and laboratory staff in the day-to-day operations of biology, chemistry, and physics instructional labs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Laboratory Maintenance
* Experiment Support
* Equipment Operation and Calibration
* Documentation of experimental procedures and results
* Safety and Compliance
* Inventory Management
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
*BS in Biology or Medical Laboratory Sciences.
*BS in Physics.
*MSc. is a plus.
*Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards etc.)
*Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems.
*Proficient in English and Arabic. Knowledge of French is a plus.
