The Metropolitan of Beirut and dependencies, Archbishop Elias Audi, inaugurated the main building of Saint George University of Beirut on October 21, 2022, in a ceremony held under his patronage.
Minister of Education and Higher Education Judge Dr. Abbas Al-Halabi, Minister of Public Health Dr. Firas El-Abyad and Minister of Information Ziad Al-Makari, and official and academic dignitaries accompanied His Eminence in the unveiling of the commemorative plaque. This was followed by the blessing of the main building whose construction dates back to 1913 and which has been rehabilitated, modernized and recently equipped according to the highest educational and technical specifications while preserving its distinctive historical character. The building currently houses SGUB Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
